I was downtown recently. Another sun-soaked day and I noticed something missing — no panhandlers. I worked in the old Ford Foundry, where it was hot in the winter, never mind the summer.
I used to say it was so hot it burned off the humidity. Well, I went to work everyday no matter how hot it was.
When I was downtown, there were no panhandlers. Was it too hot for them to show up for the job they give themselves? Guess so.
They must have a better union than I had.
