Environment Canada is warning of “significant winter weather” headed toward southern Ontario later this week.
The lower Great Lakes region is in the path of a front expected to bring precipitation to the area Thursday evening.
Environment Canada is still tracking the disturbances and says the exact location of the front will determine whether rain, freezing rain, ice pellets or snow fall in Windsor and Essex County.
In a news release, Environment Canada said a “more potent disturbance” will approach this area on the weekend and could bring significant snowfall or freezing rain and ice pellets Saturday night through Sunday.
“Any change in the storm tracks will affect precipitation amounts and type,” Environment Canada said. “However, it is very likely that travel will be impacted.”
