A line of thunderstorms will race northeastward across Southern Ontario this afternoon, according to Environment Canada.
Some of the thunderstorms may produce wind gusts to 80 km/h, hail the size of a marble or pea and frequent lightning.
Heavy downpours suddenly reducing visibility to less than one km are also possible.
The thunderstorms are expected to move northeast out of the region by mid afternoon.
The special weather statement was in effect for Windsor, Leamington, Essex County and Chatham-Kent.
