Residents in Windsor and Essex County would be forgiven for thinking they woke up to spring today.
Windsor broke the record for the warmest Feb. 28 after the mercury climbed to 15.4 C.
The previous record was set in 1976 when the temperature reached 12.2 C.
But Sunday will be the last double-digit day for a while, according to the Environment Canada forecast.
Monday’s high is 7 C with a 60 per cent chance of showers. The forecast worsens from there as each successive day gets colder and colder until the mercury drops to 0 C on Thursday.
Environment Canada issued a special weather statement Sunday night, warning a low pressure system developing over the southern United States could bring significant snowfall amounts to the region Tuesday.
