The Essex Region Conservation Authority has issued a flood warning for the shoreline of Lake St. Clair and parts of Lake Erie.

The warning, in effect until 6 p.m. Friday, comes as high winds gusting to in excess of 60 km/h are expected.

Affected areas include the Lake St. Clair shoreline from the western limit of the Town of Lakeshore to the eastern limits of Windsor. Also affected are the southeast shoreline of Leamington between Wheatley Harbour and Point Pelee and the east side of Pelee Island.

The warning, issued by ERCA at 6 p.m. Thursday, says there is a possibility of flooding, shoreline erosion and damaging waves due to strong winds out of the northeast and east-northeast.
