Canadian Blood Services needs donations, especially more O negative and A negative blood.
Because of the recent cold snap, 24 blood donor clinics across the country were cancelled in the last few weeks. Canadian Blood Services estimates 31,000 appointments for blood donation need to be filled by Feb. 1 to keep up with the constant demand for blood.
Locally there is a blood donor clinic at the Windsor Public Library on Ouellette Avenue Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and another one Monday at Heritage Park Alliance Church, 2501 Concession 6 at Huron Church Line Road from 4 to 8 p.m.
In the county there is a clinic at St. Simon and St. Jude Parish Hall in Belle River Jan. 22 from 12:30 to 7:30 p.m. and a Jan. 27 clinic at the Tilbury arena from 1 to 7 p.m.
