Windsor and Essex County was hit hard with snow Sunday and overnight but the major roads, by and large, were plowed by the morning and clear of any serious collisions.
It is cold and getting colder, though. It was -13C shortly after 10:30 a.m. and the low is forecast at -16C with a windchill warning in effect that could make temperatures feel like -35C later today and -40C later tonight and Tuesday.
The Windsor and Essex County Health Unit issued an “extreme cold weather alert” about 10:30 a.m.

@TheWindsorStar county high schools should be closed, very few students attend when buses are not running. Ends up beings a wasted day.—
